Mr. Politi, one of the finest Massachusetts tax lawyers, is former Chief Counsel to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and former Counsel to the Massachusetts Joint Legislative Committee on Taxation. Since 1977, he has been an Adjunct Professor of State and Local Taxation at the Bentley College Graduate School of Taxation. He is Editor of the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board Reporter and is the Author of the most recent annual CCH Guidebooks to Massachusetts Taxes. He is General Counsel to the Massachusetts Association of Public Accountants and he has spoken nationally and in Canada on State Taxation.

State Taxation

Mr. Politi has represented hundreds of Massachusetts businesses and individuals, including multi-state and multinational corporations, with respect to all aspects of state taxation: planning, (including change of domicile planning); compliance; tax audits; settlements; and state tax litigation at the Appellate Tax Board; Appeals Court; and Supreme Judicial Court.

Federal Taxation

The Massachusetts law firm has considerable federal tax experience. Mr. Politi holds the Master of Law in Taxation degree from Boston University Graduate School of Law and he is former Chief Counsel to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.

Business and Corporate

Mr. Adelson holds the Master of Law in Taxation degree from New York University, and brings that tax expertise to his representations in business law fields, as does Mr. Politi in his business law representations. This includes tax issues of business entity choice - S vs. C Corporation vs. LLC, important business tax elections, tax issues of executive compensation, stock issuance's and redemption, corporate distributions, corporate separations, taxable and non-taxable mergers and acquisitions (corporate "reorgs") and tax issues of dissolution and liquidation. Ms. Hunnold brings considerable Federal and State Estate and Gift Tax expertise to her work in Estate Planning and probate.
